Figure 3C shows that manoalide induces overexpression of cleaved forms of caspase 3 (c-Cas 3) in both oral cancer cells, Ca9-22 and CAL 27. Figure S4A showing the procaspase 3 and c-Cas 3 patterns also supports this finding. Moreover, this manoalide-induced c-Cas 3 is suppressed by NAC or Z-VAD pretreatments in both oral cancer cells, Ca9-22 and CAL 27 (Figure 3D).
