Notably, our results referring to the prognostic value of DOK6 expression were consistent with those reported in gastric cancer by Leong et al21 Similar prognostic value of the other DOK family member such as DOK4/5 was also reported by Fu et al.17 A possible explanation for this was that decreased DOK6 expression affected multiple carcinogenic signaling pathways, which contributed to the favorable outcome of methylated AML patients. This evidence concerns the gene DOK6 and acute myeloid leukemia.
