TAB2 was originally recognized as an adaptor protein for TAK1 signaling; it acts by tethering TAK1 to the polyubiquitinated protein TRAF6, which in turn facilitates the activation of inhibitor of κB kinase (IKK) and NF-κB. Constitutive NF-κB signaling plays a vital role in tumorigenesis and metastasis in various types of cancers, including EOC [23]. The gene discussed is TAB2; the disease is cancer.
