While homozygous germline FA gene mutations increased the risk for inherited cancer predisposition of individuals affected with Fanconi anemia [16], heterozygous carriers of germline FANCC mutations, albeit having been documented in only a few patients, have also increased susceptibility to develop certain cancers including pancreatic, colorectal, breast and lung cancers [16–22].
