Compared with the Sham group, levels of the brain damage markers S-100β and NSE gradually increased in the CCH group at 3, 6, and 9 weeks of ischemia, whereas S-100β and NSE levels significantly decreased in the Res group at the corresponding time points compared with the CCH group (p < 0.05), suggesting that resveratrol alleviated brain damage in CCH rats (Figure 3B).
