In line with our hypothesis, miR-98-5p overexpression remarkably inhibited luciferase activity of the reporter genes containing WT 3′-UTR regions of HMGA2, but no inhibitory effects were observed in mutated cell lines, suggesting that HMGA2 is a direct target of miR-98-5p in PCa cells (Figure 2C). Here, HMGA2 is linked to posterior cortical atrophy.
