In the IBD cohort, serum levels of albumin-adjusted free thiols significantly discriminated patients with mild disease activity from patients with moderate-to-severe disease activity (area under the curve (AUC) = 0.76, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.64–0.89, P < 0.01, Figure 3A and Table S3). The gene discussed is ALB; the disease is inflammatory bowel disease.
