SLC9A1 and glioblastoma: Table 2 shows the intracellular acidifiers that through different pHi-lowering mechanisms, mostly related to inhibitory effects on one or more proton extruders (NHE1, CAs, MCTs, H+-vacuolar ATPases, etc.), or as voltage gated sodium channels (VGSC) inhibitors, have shown activity against gliomas and promise a potential benefit in the treatment of MG and/or GBM.
