Because it is currently well established that IGF-1 is mostly bound to IGFBP3, the finding that the positive rate of IGFBP3 was lower in the AOM + DSS control group as compared to the Normal group, while IGF-1 expression was higher in colon samples from the AOM + DSS control group than in animals of the Normal group, confirms the positive and negative correlations (p < 0.05) (Table S2), respectively, of these two proteins. This evidence concerns the gene IGF1 and infectious otitis media.
