We investigated whether a single intraperitoneal delivery of human adipose-derived MSCs overexpressing antioxidants either Sod2 (mitochondrial) or catalase (cytosolic) can reduce oxidative stress and promote therapeutic effects on systemic inflammation, glucose homeostasis, and diabetes-related complications such as NAFLD in different DIO mouse models. This evidence concerns the gene SOD2 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
