HLA-DPA1 and hepatitis B virus infection: A GWAS of an Indonesian population including 3,614 hepatitis B vaccine recipients suggested that HLA loci, including HLA-DR (rs3135363) (P = 6.53 × 10−22; OR = 1.53, 95% CI = 1.35–1.74), HLA-DP (rs9277535) (P = 2.91 ×10−12; OR = 0.72, 95% CI = 0.63–0.81), and HLA class III (rs9267665) (P = 1.24 × 10−17; OR = 2.05, CI = 1.64–2.57), are strongly associated with the response to hepatitis B vaccination (Png et al., 2011).
