PON1 and cancer: Our study had uncovered that the PON1-L55M polymorphism was significantly associated with an increased risk of the overall cancers under all the genetic models (Table 4) (M versus L: OR =1.277, 95% CI =1.127-1.448; MM versus LL: OR =1.507, 95% CI =1.205-1.885; ML versus LL: OR =1.192, 95%CI =1.064-1.337; MM versus ML+LL: OR =1.288, 95%CI =1.120-1.408; ML+MM versus LL: OR =1.417, 95%CI =1.176-1.708).
