RUNX3 and hepatocellular carcinoma: Later on, a number of studies meet the same results suggesting gene suppressor role for RUNX3 in other solid tumours such as colon [12], lung [13], breast [14], glioblastoma [15], renal cell [16], hepatocellular carcinomas [17], chondrosarcoma [18], etc. Many other cancer studies based on epigenetics have suggested that RUNX3 downregulation in cancers could be the result of hypermethylation of the promoter of RUNX3 [19–21].
