CKB and ischemic stroke: In CKB, plasma 25(OH)D levels were not statistically associated with major vascular events (multivariable adjusted HR per 25 nmol/L higher plasma 25(OH)D, 1.02 [95% CI, 0.98,1.07]), major coronary events (HR, 0.98 [95% CI, 0.89,1.07]), myocardial infarction (HR, 0.99 [95% CI, 0.89,1.12]), stroke (HR, 1.04 [95% CI, 0.99,1.10]), ischaemic stroke (HR, 0.99[95% CI, 0.93,1.07]), subarachnoid haemorrhage (HR, 1.24 [95% CI, 0.83,1.85]), and ischaemic heart disease (HR, 0.98 [95% CI, 0.89,1.07]) after adjustment for age, sex, smoking status, alcohol intake, season, region, SBP, and physical activity.
