The distinct role of ASPM‐iI in Wnt signaling and cancer stemness can be attributed to its predominant subcellular localization in the cytosol, where most of the upstream Wnt regulators are localized, as well as the existence of the large protein fragment (1975 amino acids) encoded by exon 18 of the ASPM gene (Figure 1A), which may presumably comprise the region interacting with Dvl‐2. This evidence concerns the gene DVL2 and cancer.
