CD4 and cranioectodermal dysplasia: The gluten peptides we studied correspond to partially deamidated 15– or 16–amino acid fragments of wheat α- and ω-gliadin proteins and barley B-hordein protein that harbor altogether six HLA-DQ2.5–restricted epitopes known to activate most of the gut- and blood-derived gluten-specific CD4+ T cells in HLA-DQ2.5+ CeD patients (7, 8).
