ESM1 and pituitary gland adenoma: Through fluorescence immunohistochemistry, Matano et al. found that ESM-1 expression in pituitary adenoma was colocalized in more than 90% of CD34+ endothelial cells (i.e., vascular endothelial cells) and concluded that ESM-1 is related to tumor angiogenesis in pituitary adenoma [19].
