Gene expression data of a large dataset [9] including 98 CLL and three subtypes of normal B cells (naïve, memory IgM/IgD, and memory IgG/IgA), from three different healthy individuals revealed that only three CLL samples show more than 10 reads and most CLL and normal samples have zero reads, therefore making these data unsuitable for a validation of SHANK1 downregulation. The gene discussed is SHANK1; the disease is B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
