Given the ubiquitousness of PTEN and even more so, RNA Pol II, there will be far-reaching implications not only for overgrowth and malignancy, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, but also begin to explain human development as a whole and such disparate disorders as glucose metabolism, obesity and vascular remodeling [24–28].
