To date, among the more than 100 SNPs found in the H19 gene (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/projects/SNP), some potential functional SNPs in the promoter region play critical roles in altering individual susceptibility to cancer, interaction with environmental factors, and clinical outcomes in CRC [12, 16, 17, 36–39]. The gene discussed is H19; the disease is cancer.
