Limited analysis of targeted genes associated with hepatotoxicity (Cyp1a2, p = 0.7; Slc17a3, p = 0.9), necrosis (OSMR, p = 0.9), steatosis (CD36, p = 0.5), phospholipidosis (Serpina3n, p = 0.07) and cholestasis (Abcb4, p = 0.6) were tested by RT-PCR in the C57Bl/6J groups and were not found to have any change in the gene expression between vehicle and MC-LR exposed groups. Here, CD36 is linked to cholestasis.
