A study by Di Agostino et al. (2016), showed that YAP protein physically interacts with human tumor derived mutant p53 (carrying R175H, R273H, R280K or C194D mutations; henceforth collectively referred to as mtp53), inducing the expression of several pro-oncogenic genes and potentiating mtp53’s pro-proliferative transcriptional activity. The gene discussed is YAP1; the disease is neoplasm.
