Atractylone, the main compound in both EOs of CA and BA, can reduce allergic rhinitis (AR) clinical symptoms and biomarkers including rub scores, total IgE, histamine, prostaglandin D2, thymic stromal lymphopoietin, interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-13, tumor necrosis factor-α, cyclooxygenase-2, intercellular adhesion molecule-1, and macrophage inflammatory protein-2, which suggested that atractylone is a potential therapeutic agent for AR, so atractylone has a good immune and anti-inflammatory activity [57]. This evidence concerns the gene IL13 and allergic rhinitis.
