In 2011, Hollingworth et al. first reported in a large staged GWAS of AD that a specific SNP with CD2AP (rs9349407) located in intron 1, is significantly associated with AD risk in both stages (P1 = 8.0 ×10-4, OR1 = 1.11; P2 = 8.6 × 10-9, OR2 = 1.11, respectively) in Caucasian population [13]. The gene discussed is CD2AP; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
