MACROH2A1 and cancer: Because macroH2A1 isoforms regulate self-renewal and differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cells, embryonic stem cells and cancer stem cells [11, 16, 28], we hypothesized that macroH2A1.1 might be involved in regulating the hematopoietic compartment following genotoxic insult in a dose-dependent and time-dependent manner.
