CD36 mRNA in macrophages exposed to 10% plasma obtained from SLE subjects post-placebo-treatment trended towards decreased expression at 0.59 (95% CI (0.33 to 1.06)), while macrophages exposed to 10% plasma obtained from SLE subjects post-atorvastatin treatment display no change in CD36 mRNA at 1.08 (95% CI (0.62 to 1.87), Finteraction (1, 47) = 2.802, p = 0.100; Figure 4) compared to cells exposed to respective pre-treatment plasma set at 1.0. The gene discussed is CD36; the disease is systemic lupus erythematosus.
