A large amount of evidence has certified the roles of EVs in the modulation of the tumor microenvironment, including altering the immune response and strengthening tumor progression.24, 25 Previous studies have shown that the viral oncogene LMP1 can be transmitted between cells by EVs or exosomes, and this transmission has relations with EBV‐induced oncogenesis.26 Aga et al18 reported that HIF1α‐carried exosomes were secreted from LMP1‐positive NPC cells and its uptake by surrounding tumor cells could promote cancer cell invasion. The gene discussed is PDLIM7; the disease is nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
