Other lncRNAs promote a pro-hypertrophy response in cardiomyocytes, such as Chast, Chaer, Chrf or Miat. Chast, cardiac hypertrophy–associated transcript, is overexpressed by hypertrophy stimuli and its overexpression, independently of pro-hypertrophic factor, is sufficient to activate the hypertrophy response in the cardiomyocytes both in vivo and in vitro[89]. The gene discussed is MIAT; the disease is cardiac hypertrophy.
