In an experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis model, Blimp1 was expressed in Treg cells which accumulate in the inflamed central nervous system and contribute to Treg stability by preventing IL-6-dependent induction of DNA methyltransferase 3 α (Dnmt3a), which inhibits Foxp3 expression by methylating the CNS2 of Foxp3 [95]. This evidence concerns the gene FOXP3 and experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis.
