Since a number of other miRNAs, such miR-9, miR-146, miR-143, miR-132, miR-34a, miR-22, and miR-217, have also been shown to target SIRT1 in other diseases, it is worth investigating whether these miRNAs could serve as therapeutic targets in depression [19,31–34].
