MACS-FACS after stroke resulted in reliable detection of three cell populations with an average capture of 425.5 ± 157.9 FR+ cells, 45.5 ± 24.4 CTIP2+ cells, and 136.5 ± 43.2 FR+/CTIP2+ cells (n = 4) from each dissected cortical region (Additional file 1: Figure S2).
