Interestingly, cancer cells apply different evasion mechanisms of CD95-induced apoptosis: reports showed that CD95 can be downregulated, but CD95 sensitivity can also be reduced by e.g., blocking of CD95 receptor and ligand binding (through soluble CD95L or soluble decoy receptor 3) or alteration of CD95 signaling pathway (51, 52, 54, 56–58).
