S‐allylmercaptocysteine, one of the water‐soluble organosulfur garlic derivatives, was suggested to suppress the growth of gastric cancer in in vivo conditions because of its effect on antiproliferation, apoptosis induction, and the regulation of the MAPK and PI3K/Akt pathways (Zhu et al., 2017). This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and gastric cancer.
