Indeed, PML involvement in POAG etiology was already described by Nakano et al., who performed a genome-wide association study using 201 exfoliation POAG and 697 CTRL, identifying 34 genome-wide significant single-nucleotide polymorphisms distributing in lysyl oxidase-like 1 gene, TBC1D21, and PML at the 15q24.1 locus [29].
