Normalized to body weight, patients with type 1 diabetes and patients with newly diagnosed diabetes received a lower insulin dosage (an average of 0.079 U/kg/h and 0.083 U/kg/h, respectively) than patients with type 2 or secondary diabetes (0.104 U/kg/h, p < 0.01 and p < 0.05, respectively) during the first 6 h of management.
