Another NRG1 heterozygous mice were generated by targeted disruption of type III NRG1 (Chen et al., 2008), which is one of many NRG1 isoforms highly expressed throughout embryonic and postnatal brain development and are implicated in schizophrenia (Meyer et al., 1997; Anton et al., 2004; Longart et al., 2004).
