Our message based on the present data can be summarized in the following three points: 1) We adapted the CD4+ T cell-transfer model, a chronic colitis model that clearly differs from the widely used chemically induced acute colitis models; 2) BBR affected the AMPK-related metabolic pathway and reduced the inflammatory responses; and 3) BBR reduced the microbiota diversity, possibly by its antimicrobial action. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and Chronic colitis.
