Some lncRNAs have been reported to be biomarkers for the diagnosis of CVD; for example the lncRNA PCA3 has been reported to be a biomarker for severe left ventricular remodelling after MI [40], the circulating levels of lincRNA-P21 [41] are markedly increased in atherosclerosis and may be important in its pathogenesis, and the lncRNA OTTHUMT00000387022 [42] has been reported as a biomarker in coronary artery disease. This evidence concerns the gene PCA3 and myocardial infarction.
