Studies have shown that, for cartilage regeneration, in addition to the proliferation of chondrocytes, it is more important to regulate the microenvironment around the cartilage such as inflammation,22 angiogenesis 23 or niches appropriate for stem cells.24 It has been reported that BAK has certain anti‐inflammatory effects.25 For diseases of the cartilage, osteoarthritis is the most common degenerative disease. This evidence concerns the gene BAK1 and cartilage disease.
