To extend these findings and bridge the gap between TAZ and CSCs stemness in HNSCC, we screened dozes of known CSCs regulators and found that SOX2 might be downstream target of TAZ in HNSCC as evidenced by its downregulation or upregulation followed by TAZ knockdown or overexpression in vitro. This evidence concerns the gene WWTR1 and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
