After adjustment for potential confounders whose unadjusted p values were ≤0.2 in Cox regression analysis (age, gender, CAD, current smoking, diastolic blood pressure, BMI, NIHSS score on admission, the WBCs, LDL‐C, TC), IL‐33 level was still closely related to recurrent episode of ischemic stroke with an adjusted HR 0.979 (95% CI 0.979–0.997, p = .025). The gene discussed is IL33; the disease is coronary artery disorder.
