The results involving two studies—Kotajima et al. [2] and KPS (unpublished)—demonstrated no significant difference in MMP-3 levels between SLE patients with abnormally increased anti-dsDNA Ab titer and those without (P = 0.898, Hedges' g: 0.094, 95% CI -1.325-1.540) (Table 2 and Figure 7). The gene discussed is MMP3; the disease is systemic lupus erythematosus.
