Recently, a subset of patients with ME/CFS was shown to display an array of autoantibodies directed against neurotransmitters and neuronal components including serotonin, anti-neural antibodies, gangliosides, and mu-opioid, dopamine D2, muscarinic, and 5-HT1A receptors [87]. The gene discussed is HTR1A; the disease is myalgic encephalomeyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome.
