Previous studies reported early dysregulation of mitochondrial functions as a symptom of major depression in adult patients.19 Previous evidences showed that mitochondrial function and energy metabolism are important for social behavior.20 In our microarray results, we reported an increase in the expression of Glo1, Aldoc, Pk, Pgm, and Phgdh genes, which are all involved in glycolysis (Table 1). Here, GLO1 is linked to major depressive disorder.
