By exploiting the partial survival of maternal allele transmission of Igf2I1565A/+p, we now show in a conditional early intestinal adenoma model (Lgr5-Cre, Apcloxp), that early adenoma growth can be modified by the IGF2 dependent function of Igf2r. These data suggest for the first time that early adenoma growth may be modified by the IGF2 dependent function of Igf2r, extending the potential that selection for IGF2 supply may be a functional driver in the development of colorectal cancer. This evidence concerns the gene IGF2 and colorectal cancer.
