UBE2V1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus: Since our group has previously demonstrated that K63-linked ubiquitylation represents a novel mechanism involved in the progression of tubular damage and fibrosis in DN17, among the 9 specific miRNAs differentially expressed in DN patients when compared to T2D-MN and NK, we selected those that specifically target UBE2v1, the E2 enzyme involved in K63-linked ubiquitylation.
