CD4 and colitis: reported that curcuminincreased small intestinal mucosal CD4+ T lymphocytes and B lymphocytes inmice that were treated for nearly 11 weeks.41 It was recently reported that curcumin increased the proportion ofcolonic mucosal CD4+ Foxp3+ regulatory T lymphocytes in a murine model ofexperimental colitis.42 Therefore, biologic mechanisms for the modulation of leukocytesubtypes are potentially related to the actions of curcumin.
