This affirmation stems from several findings: (1) XIST is negatively associated with miR-497-5p levels in human HCC tissues and cells; (2) XIST suppressed miR-497-5p expression by targeting PDCD4; and (3) XIST increased the expression of PDCD4 by decreasing miR-497-5p in human liver cancer tissues. Here, XIST is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
