Another DNA-repair-related gene involved in deubiquitination, which in our study showed a low expression in metastasizing uveal melanoma, is WDR48. It is also known as UAF1 and is located in close proximity (on 3p22.2) to BAP1. UAF1 and USP1, a deubiquitinating enzyme, form the UAF1/USP1 complex, which regulates the Fanconi Anemia DNA-repair pathway [57]. The gene discussed is BAP1; the disease is uveal melanoma.
