This locus contains several genes including CDKN2A (encoding cyclin p14, p16), CDKN2B (encoding cyclin p15), MTAP (encoding methylthioadenosine phosphorylase), and the long non-coding RNA ANRIL. Integration of genetic and transcriptomic data led to the identification of ANRIL as the top candidate causal gene for CAD at the 9p21 region (63). This evidence concerns the gene CDKN2B-AS1 and coronary artery disorder.
